Inspired by the poetic colorings of folk tales, the mouth-watering recipes known by heart not by pen, the fading photographs of unforgotten ancestors and the beautiful gift of passing on these memories and relics.

Established in 2006, olilo is dedicated to producing heirloom-quality handmade goods. I was born in Brazil to a Brazilian mother and American father. Having moved to the US when just a child, I had the unique experience of spending summers in the Silva family hometown of Divinopolis and the rest of the year in the small Ohio town of Orrville. From an early age, I was taught to respect the craft from my family, a family of wonderful magicians – artists and writers, healers and comedians.

I have lived throughout the US and travelled around the globe. Happy as I was, it wasn’t until the birth of my niece, my muse Chloe Rose that I discovered true love. I wanted to teach her everything I knew, decorate her with my handy work and watch her absorb the world around her. So I did, and so I do. olilo was born of that inspiration and a desire within me to carry on the traditions of my family; to capture a feeling, and memorialize it in cloth: a modern heirloom. Seven years later, Chloe and I often share my work table as she sews her little bags and I ask for her advice on design or color.

My Heritage Brand is deeply connected  not only to our family’s lineage but to the rhythm of the lifestyles, traditions, and stories found within our society. Each piece is handmade in limited quantity and with the finest of materials.
